Premium On the 1st of each month, the plugin generates the previous month’s export and emails it as an attachment.
The monthly export requires an active Premium license or a running trial. Without a license, the Enable Automatic Sending box is disabled and no export is scheduled.
Settings
Statuses & Automation tab:
| Field | Default | Role |
|---|---|---|
| Enable Automatic Sending | Off | Turns on the monthly export and email. |
| Recipient Email | Site admin address | Who receives the file. An invalid address falls back to the admin address. |
| Automatic Export Format | FEC | One of the available formats (DATEV, Xero, QuickBooks…). |
How it works
- Every day, the plugin checks whether it is the 1st of the month (UTC) and, if so, creates a background export of the previous month, excluding documents already exported.
- The email goes out at the end of the export, with the file attached under the same name and extension as a download from the history (a ZIP for a Xero export over 300 lines). If the period has no entries, no email is sent (this is not an error).
- Skipped orders, payments not exported and documents in a foreign currency are mentioned in the email.
- The export appears in the history with the origin “Automatic”.
If it fails
An alert email (“Automatic accounting export failed”) is sent to the recipient if another export is already running, if the storage folder is not writable, or if the export fails. In the first case, start the export manually.
Low-traffic site
WP-Cron is triggered by visits: on a shop with few visitors, the export may go out late. Set up a system cron that calls wp-cron.php, for example every 15 minutes:
*/15 * * * * curl -s https://your-shop.com/wp-cron.php?doing_wp_cron >/dev/nullThe plugin’s logs (WooCommerce → Status → Logs, source woo-accounting-export) record start, progress, end or failure, and the result of each email.
