Second plugin from ZM Labs, SafeAlt writes the alt text, title and caption of your WordPress images by analysing what they show.
Why SafeAlt
Alt text makes an image understandable for people who use a screen reader, and helps search engines index it. Yet on most sites it is missing from a large share of images: writing it by hand simply takes too long.
What the plugin does
- Every new image is described in the background, without slowing down the upload.
- Existing images without alt text are found and described in a few clicks.
- Empty fields are filled in; a text you wrote is never replaced without your approval.
- Texts are written in the language of your content (7 languages) and take into account the page where the image is used.
Images that stay private
SafeAlt runs on our own artificial intelligence models, on our servers in Europe: no image is handed to a third-party AI provider, and each image is deleted as soon as its analysis is finished. Metadata (EXIF, GPS position) is stripped on your site before anything is sent.
How to get started
Update of 4 October 2026: SafeAlt is published in the official WordPress plugin directory. Install it from Plugins → Add New Plugin by searching for “SafeAlt”, or see its product page. The free plan describes 25 images a month, without a credit card; the Solo, Pro and Agency plans go up to 10,000 images a month and 25 sites.
